Designed by Hannah Six exclusively for us, these cushy, gorgeous cabled socks use our Kells Sport Merino.

Craic, pronounced "crack", is a Gaelic word that roughly translates to "great fun", as in: "Knitting these socks is great craic."

Errata/Clarifications

Here are instructions for working the cable stitches

  • LC3 = Put the 2 K sts on a cn and hold to front of work, P1, then K the 2 sts on the cn. (Moving the 2 K sts to the left.)

  • RC3 = Put the P st on a cn and hold to back of work, K2, then P1 from the cn. (Moving the 2 K sts to the right.)

  • C6L: Place next three sts on cn and hold to front of work, K3, then K3 from cn.

  • C6R: Place next three sts on cn and hold to back of work, K3, then K3 from cn.

Here are instructions for reading the chart
Work chart beginning at bottom, from right to left on every row. Knit two repeats of the 33 st chart for a total of 66 sts.

Here are instructions for working the heel flap

  • Next rnd (RS): Move sts 1 - 5 to previous needle (they will join the instep sts from now on).
  • Next knit sts 6 - 33 of Rnd 19 from Chart 1, and knit the next four sts, as well. Turn so you’re knitting back on the WS, and work across these 31 sts (as shown on Row 2 of Heel Flap Chart).
  • You should now have 31 sts on your needle – the heel flap is worked back and forth on these 32 sts.
  • Begin working Chart 2.
